Garbage containers

Detective Rafael Miranda checks the garbage containers where the blister packs were found, and notices something very particular.  Although there are many blister packs for different drugs, the K-Dur blister packs were all at the bottom of the bag.   He sends the rest of the packs to trace based on a hunch.   Maybe some drugs have been replaced by someone.  He dusts the K-Dur blister packs for fingerprints and finds one clear set in all of them.   He sends the fingerprints to Identification to try to find a match.
There are also some invoices from a drugstore, and he sends them to Identification.

Phone records

The detective also finds the phone records for the house, and discovers that 15 phone calls were made from there to an office downtown.   The office belongs to Mr. Logan Hatfield, Johnathan Shepard's attorney.
Some phone calls were received from three different numbers, belonging to Daniel, Joseph and Linda Shepard, Johnathan Shepard's children.

Trace evidence

Detective Rafael Miranda started researching around the house and found a blender that had been recently washed.   He sent it to trace to try to determine what the late Johnathan Shepard had eaten that day.
In the case of Kidney patients, it is important to remember that there are things that need to be avoided, so he researched a little and found this link for you to take a look at.

Last will

The suspicion of Daniel Shepard led detective Miranda to investigate the lawyer.  His secretary claims that Mr. Hatfield sustained constant meetings with Mrs. Shepard, and two days ago they got Mr. Shepard to sign the last will and testament with some modifications.
After verifying the document, the detective discovered that the modifications had been made over the percentages to be distributed between his heirs.  His wife would receive 85% of all, leaving 5% to his children.

Dialysis unit

Detective Miranda went to the Dialysis unit where Johnathan Shepard was having his treatment.   The staff said that Mrs. Shepard had always been her husband's caretaker, and she had always wanted to learn more about the nutritional precautions she had to take when preparing food for her husband.   They say that she had warned them against some opportunists trying to take advantage of her husband's frail state.
