Trace

After receiving a warrant from the judge on the basis of the possible negligence, Detective Francesca Di Marco inspects the house of the Shepards.   She finds traces of blood in the bed sheets of Johnathan, around the middle portion of the mattress.   These traces are a couple of days old.

Checking the garbage containers, she found that there is a myriad of blister packs where drugs were contained, but although there are many drugs that are logical in the treatment of Dialysis patients, there is one drug that calls the detective's attention:  A drug called K-Dur.   She hadn't heard of this drug before, so she left you this link for you to try to determine what this means.

Still, the drug might have been for Mrs. Shepard.

There is another detail.  The blister packs for some other drugs had also had traces of K-Dur, suggesting that the pills in the original blister pack had been replaced by this drug.

Blender

Detective Di Marco received the blender from the Shepard house and found that there were very small traces of food that had been stuck between the blender glass jar and its blade.  She found traces of beans and lentils, along with some vegetables.   Apparently nothing else was cooked that day.
When asked, Susan said that Mrs. Shepard had given her the day off and she had not even stepped in the kitchen that day.
